Slingshot Ride at London Fairground Snapped and Crashed with Passengers Still Inside

The slingshot ride at Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park, London snapped and crashed last night with two riders inside. One of the pods elastic-cords snapped causing it to crash into the supporting beams, with 2 people inside. A video was captured on social media. Bystanders can be heard screaming and gasping in shock. The popular ride uses elastic-propelled cords to launch the pod into the air, as if being thrown by a slingshot.

After crashing into the supporting beam, the pod just hangs in midair with the riders left terrified inside. Witnesses told MailOnline that the two people were taken to hospital but that their condition was not known. We hope they are ok and wish them a speedy recovery.
