It’s been a year since Sony released its latest console, the PlayStation 5. But they’re still incredibly hard to get your hands on.

Most places sell out almost immediately when they get stock, and online retailers seem to be snapped up by bots that automatically buy PS5s and then sell them on eBay for twice the price.

And if you’re one of the millions who are struggling to get your hands on the next gen console, we’ve got some bad news for you. It’s only going to get worse.

According to Bloomberg, Sony plans to cut production of the PlayStation 5 by 1 million units, which means that the supply shortage will not only continue into 2022, but it’ll actually worsen.

With new games dropping around Christmas, like Call of Duty and Battlefield, this really is a kick in the nuts for anyone hoping to upgrade their console.

Might have to wait for the PS6.
