Young fans have been sharing their experiences after a crowd surge at Astroworld took the lives of eight people and injured hundreds more.

The youngest victim of the tragedy was just 14-years-old it has today been confirmed.

Hamad Al Barrak, a 19-year-old music fan, was at the festival and has described the horrifying scenes in an interview with Reuters.

Barrak said:

“There were just too many people. We were all pressed together. You felt like you couldn’t breathe.”

I SCREAMED FOR HELP SO MANY TIMES, ALERTED SECURITY, ASKED EVERYONE IN THE CROWD IF THERE WAS ANYONE WHO WAS CPR CERTIFIED. EVERY CALL WENT UNANSWERED. I WAS TOLD, ‘WE ALREADY KNOW, AND WE CAN’T DO ANYTHING TO STOP THE SHOW, THEY’RE STREAMING LIVE’. DISGUSTING. #ASTROWORLDFEST.

Festival-goers have been posting about their attempts to bring a stop to Travis Scott’s performance in order to try and get the crowd surge under control.

One video shows a young girl begging staff to stop the show because ‘someone had died’, and her desperate pleas seem to fall on deaf ears.
