The infamous slap is officially damaging Will Smith’s bank balance.
Smith very publicly slapped Chris Rock after the comedian made an insensitive remark about Jada Pinkett Smith, comparing her to G.I Jane.
In the wake of this incident, Smith has since apologized to Rock, the Academy and his fellow nominees.
Now that a week has passed since the Oscars took place, the actor is starting to see real repercussions for his actions.
The 53-year-old’s upcoming Netflix film Fast and Loose has reportedly slowed down production, as per the Hollywood Reporter.
The publication also reported that Smith was given the first 40 pages or so of Bad Boys 4 but the production has also been slowed for the time being.
The actor allegedly tried to justify his reaction to Rock by explaining why Rock’s joke about Pinkett Smith’s shaved head cause such a severe response – Jada has been open about her struggles with hair loss caused by alopecia.
