Icon and legend Tom Hanks admitted during an interview with People that he has four ‘pretty good’ movies.
Despite being one of Hollywood’s most well known actors, the 66-year-old admitted that he is not all that impressed or proud of his work over the years.
In the interview, Hanks was talking about his latest novel ‘The Making of Another Major Motion Picture Masterpiece’ which tells the story of how much US culture has altered since WWII.
One storyline in the book is about a boy who draws comic books in the 70s. Another plotline is set in present day and tells the story of a director turning these comics into superhero films.
The legend says:
“The source for a movie can go back as many years as are in history. A story turns on a single moment in the life of someone, then all the anecdotes of the current day magnify that moment,”
“Going back to 1947 makes sense, as would have starting in, say, 1559. Human yearning has proven to be timeless.”
“No one knows how a movie is made — though everyone thinks they do.
“I’ve made a ton of movies (and four of them are pretty good, I think) and I’m still amazed at how films come together. From a flicker of an idea to the flickering image onscreen, the whole process is a miracle.”
I’ll be damned…
