Tupac Shakur to Receive Posthumous Hollywood Walk of Fame Star


Tupac Shakur, the renowned rap icon, is set to receive a posthumous honor on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame, solidifying his legacy in the entertainment industry.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce recently announced that the event, scheduled for June 7, will be hosted by West Coast radio veteran and REAL 92.3 host, Big Boy. Accepting the star on behalf of her late brother will be Sekyiwa “Set” Shakur, Tupac’s sister.

Notable figures from the industry, including director Allen Hughes and executive producer Jamal Joseph, known for their work on F/X’s documentary “Dear Mama: The Saga of Afeni and Tupac Shakur,” will also be present as guest speakers.

Although Tupac Shakur tragically lost his life in 1996, his impact and influence have only grown since then.

He has sold over 75 million records worldwide, with two of his albums, “All Eyez on Me” and “Greatest Hits,” earning Diamond certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Furthermore, Tupac’s life story has become a subject of study in classrooms and colleges across the nation, showcasing his significance beyond the realm of music.

With the addition of Tupac’s star, the Hollywood Walk of Fame will boast its 2,758th star.

This honor follows in the footsteps of other notable rap artists, such as Nipsey Hussle, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, and Dr. Dre, who have already been immortalized with stars on the West Coast segment of the Walk of Fame.

The induction of Tupac Shakur into the Hollywood Walk of Fame serves as a lasting tribute to his immense talent, cultural impact, and enduring legacy.

His contributions to the rap genre, as well as his thought-provoking lyrics and activism, continue to resonate with fans and inspire generations of artists.
