Tyson Fury, the current WBC heavyweight champion, recently lost an £100,000 ($120,226) bet he had placed on his brother Tommy’s grudge fight with Jake Paul.
The two fighters had been building up the hype for this fight for over two years, with Tyson Fury even threatening to leave Tommy in the Middle East if he lost.
As the pressure mounted, Tyson Fury revealed his £100,000 ($120,226) bet on his brother stopping Paul inside the distance, making for an intense showdown between the two rivals.

Although Tommy eventually came out victorious, he failed to stop Jake Paul, causing Tyson to lose his bet.
The initial value of the wager had been placed at $1 million when the pair were set to meet in August of last year, but the fight collapsed, and the wager expired. Despite this setback, Tyson Fury remained confident in his brother’s ability to win the fight, pointing out his hard work in training.
In an interview with iFL TV, Tyson Fury stated, “Tommy knocks out 90 per cent of people that he spars with or drops them at least, so he’s a very hard puncher and Jake Paul will find that out tomorrow.” He also expressed his disbelief at some of the expert opinions and professional boxers picking Jake Paul over Tommy, saying, “What the hell are these guys watching? Because Tommy will absolutely deck him. I think Tommy can get him out of there whenever really. It’ll definitely be inside the distance and it won’t be a points job for sure. Tommy wins by knockout. I can smell the fear and he [Jake] is rattling. He is rattling like a little b**** and he is going to get knocked out.”
Despite Tyson Fury’s confident prediction of his brother’s win, the fight was a tough one, and Tommy did not manage to knock out Jake Paul. Nevertheless, he emerged victorious, leaving Tyson Fury to accept the loss of his £100,000 bet. This setback, however, is unlikely to have a significant impact on Tyson Fury’s financial situation as he is one of the highest-paid boxers in the world.
Tyson Fury’s support for his brother Tommy during this fight demonstrates the strong bond between the two brothers. Although Tyson Fury is a heavyweight champion in his own right, he took time out of his busy schedule to travel to Saudi Arabia to cheer on his brother.
This shows the depth of the brothers’ relationship, and how family support can be a powerful motivator for athletes.
