Footage of an off-screen moment between Will Smith and Chris Rock shows the comic apparently trying to apologize to the King Richard star during the commercial break.
During the Academy Awards on Sunday evening, Will Smith rushed on to the stage after Chris Rock made a comment about Jada Pinkett Smith during his speech and slapped Rock in the face.
Amongst the chaos at the Academy Awards ceremony one photo has surfaced showing Rock leaning forward from the stage gesturing to where Smith and his wife are seated.
He is then shown holding out an open palm as if in apology.
Denzel Washington is also in the picture, standing between the pair, as if to keep them apart or negotiate a truce.
Despite all attempts, it was reported that Rock was unable to talk to the legendary actor. See below:

Jada Pinkett Smith has recently been open about her struggle with alopecia, a hair loss condition.
The comic made a G.I Jane reference about Pinkett Smith to which Will Smith reacted by walking onto the stage and slapping Rock in the face.

Rock has not pressed charges, according to the LAPD.
