USA’s Antonee Robinson was filmed comforting an Iranian Soccer player after the US team knocked them out of the World Cup.
After USA’s win on Tuesday, Robinson comforted a distraught Ramin Rezaeian of the Iranian team.
The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Group B game between Iran and USA took place at the Al Thumama Stadium on 29 November in Doha, Qatar.
The USMNT made it to the World Cup’s knockout round after they beat Iran 1-0, making this the first time in 8 years that the team will appear in the Round of 16.
Sadly, the USA’s win meant that Iran were knocked out of the competition and did not make it to the next round.
Rezaeian was understandably heartbroken with the result and can be seen sobbing on the pitch after the game.
The two athletes were spotted sharing words with each other as well as a comforting hug. See below:

The USMNT will play the Netherlands on Saturday at 10am ET.
