Viewers are shouting for Jon Bernthal to win awards for his amazing performance in the new police drama, We Own This City.
Watch the trailer below:
This drama is the first time the 45-year-old has been in any major show since The Punisher, which got cancelled in 2019.
The series is based on a book of the same name and follows the tale of Sergeant Wayne Jenkins who was one of a group of eight officers who ended up being convicted on numerous corruption charges in 2018 and 2019. It is based on true events.
Sky‘s description of the mini-series reads:
“Developed by George Pelecanos and David Simon, and directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, We Own This City chronicles the rise and fall of the Baltimore Police Department’s Gun Trace Task Force and the corruption and moral collapse that befell an American city in which the policies of drug prohibition and mass arrest were championed at the expense of actual police work.”
