President Volodymyr Zelensky has survived ‘more than a dozen assassination attempts’, according to one of his close advisors.
Mikhail Podolyak – the head of the office for the President – in a statement, has warned of Russian ‘sabotage groups’ that are attempting to hunt down Zelensky and his family, after entering Kyiv, where the President is openly residing.
Podolyak said a ‘very powerful network of intelligence and counterintelligence’ had thwarted the attempted attacks and that the attempted killers had been ‘liquidated’ before they could reach the President of Ukraine.
The head of office stated that western intelligence was correct in saying Volodymyr Zelensky, aged 44, was Putin’s ‘number one target’. However, he contradicted recent reports that stated the Ukrainian President has survived ‘three assignation attempts in the last week’, believing the correct number to be much higher.
Speaking to Pravda.com, Podolyak said:
‘Our foreign partners are talking about two or three attempts. I believe that there were more than a dozen such attempts.’
