James Franco, one of Hollywood’s leading actors, has quietly disappeared without many people noticing. But what happened to James Franco?

Franco was one of the most famous movie stars in the world after starring in huge successes such as 127 Hours, Pineapple Express and what seemed his last major movie The Disaster Artist in 2017.

Franco hit the headlines after five of his film students accused him of “sexually-charged behaviour towards female students” in Los Angeles in October 2019.

One student claimed:

“I feel there was an abuse of power, and there was a culture of exploiting non-celebrity women, and a culture of women being replaceable,”

Franco denied all of the allegations, but went on to say:

“Look, in my life I pride myself on taking responsibility for things that I have done, I have to do that to maintain my well being. The things that I heard that were on Twitter are not accurate. But I completely support people coming out and being able to have a voice because they didn’t have a voice for so long. So I don’t want to shut them down in any way.”

“If I have done something wrong, I will fix it — I have to.”

Franco later agreed to pay $2.2m to settle the sexual misconduct case against him.

What Happened To James Franco?

Since the lawsuit, studios have avoided the Oscar nominee, and his offers seem to have dried up. Even longtime friend and collaborator Seth Rogan is staying well clear.

“I also look back to that interview in 2018 where I comment that I would keep working with James, and the truth is that I have not and I do not plan to right now.”

Franco also deleted his social media accounts, and seems to be keeping a lowkey profile since the lawsuit.

Whether he attempts to make a Hollywood comeback remains to be seen.
