I bet you’re wondering what happens to Amber Heard if Johnny Depp wins the defamation trial?

Depp sued Heard for $50 million over an op-ed she wrote in 2018 in The Washington Post about being abused. The actor was not named, however, he claims that these allegations have negatively impacted his reputation and his career.

The actress then countersued Depp for $100 million, accusing the 58-year-old of creating a “smear campaign” against her. The trial began on 11 April in Fairfax, Virgina.

The televised trial has had audiences and journalists gripped from the start, giving us all a look behind the curtain of the tumultuous celebrity couple’s relationship.

Many are wondering what exactly would happen to the Aquaman star if Depp wins the case.

Sources close to Heard’s legal team told the NYPost:

“The jury is going to determine damages for both the claim and the counterclaim,”

“If the jury finds Amber was liable for Mr. Depp, it would determine damages, if it found that Mr. Depp was liable for Amber’s counterclaims, it makes a determination of damages.”

If found guilty, Heard does not face any prison time as she only has civil claims, not criminal charges.
