Will Smith has issued a formal apology to comedian Chris Rock after Smith slapped him on live TV.
During the Academy Awards on Sunday evening, Will Smith rushed on to the stage after Chris Rock made a comment about Jada Pinkett Smith during his speech and slapped Rock in the face.
Smith, after accepting the Best Actor Oscar for his performance in King Richard, went on to apologies to the Academy and his “fellow nominees”.
However, the star did not mention Rock in his acceptance speech. Sean “Diddy” Combs later confirmed that the pair had settled their feud before the event had even finished.
The 53-year-old has since issued a formal apology to the comedian:
Jada Pinkett Smith has recently been open about her struggle with alopecia, a hair loss condition.
Rock made a G.I Jane reference about Pinkett Smith to which Will Smith reacted by walking onto the stage and slapping Rock in the face.
