A woman who was clinically dead for 27 minutes has described the awe-inspiring visions she saw during this time.
In 2018, Tina Hines suffered a cardiac arrest in her home in Arizona, US, which resulted in her husband, Brian, performing CPR and resuscitation.
Despite the efforts, Hines’ condition worsened and she was declared dead for 27 minutes before being revived six times.
However, despite the frightening experience, Hines was not scared as she saw Jesus and heaven during her near-death experience (NDE).
In an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network, Hines said, “The unbelievable rest and peacefulness of what I experienced was Jesus standing there with his arms open wide, and right behind Jesus, there was this incredible glow.”
Hines wrote down two words after waking up from her NDE: “It’s real.”
According to the University of Virginia, NDEs are intense, vivid, and life-transforming experiences that occur under extreme physiological conditions, such as cardiac arrest or deep general anesthesia. Many people who experience NDEs report a sense of peace, well-being, or unconditional love, or encounter deceased loved ones or religious figures.
Hines is not alone in having a life-changing NDE. Dr. Eben Alexander was induced into a coma in 2008 and had a rebirth in another realm that was filled with waterfalls, crystal pools, singing, and dancing. Betty J. Eadie also saw Jesus during her NDE and was hugged by him with the message, “It’s not yet your time.”
Scientists have suggested that NDEs could be a flashback of a person’s life before they die, and Dr. Ajmal Zemmar has speculated that if the brain does a flashback, it would probably remind you of good things rather than bad things. He concluded, “I think there’s something mystical and spiritual about this whole near-death experience.”
