Three people tragically died in India after their car, guided by outdated GPS data, drove off an incomplete bridge. The incident occurred on November 23 near the Ramganga River between Faridpur and Dataganj. The vehicle fell between 30 and 50 feet, with the wreckage discovered the next morning by local villagers who alerted authorities. All three passengers, returning home from a wedding, were found dead inside the vehicle.
The GPS system directed the car onto a bridge that had been closed since its partial collapse in 2022. Thick fog further obscured the bridge’s incomplete state, contributing to the accident. The victims were identified as Amit Kumar, Vivek Kumar, and a third person whose identity is still being verified. Relatives expressed outrage, blaming local authorities for negligence in maintaining safety measures and calling for a formal investigation.

Local officials have pledged to inspect all roads and bridges in the area to prevent future accidents. A statement from Faridpur SDM Gulab Singh confirmed that an investigation is underway, with actions promised against those found responsible for the oversight.
