Wayne Northrop, best known for his roles on Days of Our Lives and Dynasty, has passed away at the age of 77. His publicist confirmed he died at the Motion Picture and Television Home in Woodland Hills, California, where he had been living due to an Alzheimer’s diagnosis six years ago. Northrop’s wife, Lynn Herring, shared that he spent his final moments surrounded by family, expressing gratitude to the care facility for their support.

Northrop had a prolific career, starting in the late 1970s with guest appearances on shows like The Waltons and Baretta. His breakout role came in Dynasty as Michael Culhane, a role he played in the series’ early episodes. However, his most iconic contributions were on Days of Our Lives, where he portrayed Roman Brady and later Dr. Alex North, amassing over 1,000 episodes between 1981 and 2006.

Outside of acting, Northrop and Herring shared a love of conservation and operated a cattle ranch in California. He also appeared in other notable projects, including Port Charles, Cold Case, and L.A. Law, showcasing his versatility across genres.

Northrop is survived by his wife of 43 years and their two sons, Hank and Grady. His passing marks the loss of a beloved figure in television, remembered for his talent and contributions to the entertainment industry.
