Hilaria Baldwin has revealed that she didn’t fully understand what a prenuptial agreement was when she married Alec Baldwin in 2012. Speaking on their new TLC reality show, The Baldwins, she admitted, “I just don’t understand quite what a prenup is… And I was like, ‘You know what? I’ll just sign it,’” calling her past decision “probably very stupid.”
Alec, who was previously married to Kim Basinger, insisted on a prenup after his first divorce. However, Hilaria initially resisted the idea, saying, “I don’t really want to think about the end by the beginning.” Eventually, she agreed to sign without fully reviewing the terms but now says she would “read it again” if she could redo the moment.
The couple’s reality show also covers Alec’s legal troubles following the 2021 Rust shooting, which resulted in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Alec, who was holding the gun when it discharged, maintains that he did not pull the trigger. The charges against him were dismissed in 2023.
Throughout the legal battle, Alec praised Hilaria for supporting him, saying, “This has been just surreal… I always feel more in pain about you than me.” Their show explores how the couple has navigated the public scrutiny surrounding their marriage and legal battles.
