Former ALF child star Benji Gregory’s cause of death has been confirmed as vehicular heatstroke, which occurred on June 13, 2024. The 46-year-old actor was found in his car in Peoria, Arizona, along with his service dog, Hans, who also passed away. Gregory’s sister revealed that he had likely fallen asleep in his car while depositing residuals from his acting work.

The Maricopa Medical Examiner’s Office ruled his death an accident, attributing it to heat exposure complicated by hepatic cirrhosis, a liver condition resulting from long-term damage. Gregory, known for his role as Brian Tanner on the 1980s sitcom ALF, had left the entertainment industry and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 2003.
