A group of former Apprentice contestants, including Season 3 winner Kendra Todd, has publicly declared their support for Donald Trump in response to another letter from show alumni backing Kamala Harris. Todd and 10 other castmates issued a statement expressing disappointment in those who, in their view, “attacked” Trump despite the opportunities he provided. Todd argued that her fellow contestants’ claims to speak for the broader group were misleading, saying, “I simply just do not believe that to be true.”
Todd and the pro-Trump alumni describe Trump as a charismatic leader who helped shape their careers. This sentiment comes in stark contrast to the pro-Harris letter, which criticized Trump as divisive and self-centered, noting that his demand for loyalty and tendency to react to criticism were reasons for their support of Harris.
For Todd and her fellow signers, the divide is personal. She sees the anti-Trump letter as a “betrayal” of the opportunity he gave them, which, she believes, is inconsistent with his true character. “We’re grateful for what he’s done for our country,” Todd said, adding that the letter was necessary to counter what they see as an unrepresentative view.
The Apprentice, which debuted in 2004, aired for 15 seasons, and Todd noted that her experience with Trump remains positive even years after their initial connection on the show.
