While recording a video aboard the International Space Station, the astronaut turned his camera to reveal Earth in all its curved, spherical glory, putting the debate to rest once again.
The video, posted on TikTok by @spacemanedu with the caption “Someone said Earth was flat…”, quickly went viral, racking up over six million likes. The footage echoes past efforts by astronauts to debunk flat Earth claims, including NASA’s Terry Virts, who once tweeted, “I can save BoB a lot of money – the Earth is round. I flew around it.” This was in response to rapper B.o.B., who once attempted to crowdfund a satellite launch to prove his theory.
Astronaut Scott Kelly also joined in, previously sharing a time-lapse video from the ISS showing Earth’s curvature, captioning it, “Show you the curve? Here you go.” Even legendary astronaut Buzz Aldrin weighed in, writing, “I did too. It’s called an orbit.” Despite the overwhelming evidence, flat Earth supporters remain unconvinced, often dismissing photos and videos as CGI or part of a larger cover-up.
While the conspiracy persists in certain online circles, scientific evidence continues to pile up against it. The latest video is just another example of how easy it is to disprove the claim—especially when you have a front-row seat from space.
