Johnny Galecki, famed for his role as Leonard Hofstadter on “The Big Bang Theory,” has disclosed that he has secretly married and welcomed a second child, a baby girl named Oona Evelena, with his wife Morgan Galecki. The couple had previously kept their marriage and the birth of their daughter under wraps.
The revelation came through an interview with Architectural Digest magazine, which mentioned that Morgan was pregnant during the interview and photo shoot and gave birth “soon after.” The exact dates of their marriage and Oona Evelena’s birth remain undisclosed.
Galecki, who is also a father to four-year-old son Avery with his ex-girlfriend Alaina Meyer, participated in a family photo session for the magazine feature. He later took to social media to share images from the shoot, including one where Avery is seen wearing a bunny mask.
Historically private about his personal life, Galecki’s recent social media post expressed gratitude towards Architectural Digest and his sisters from Pierce and Ward for the feature, stating, “Thank you to @archdigest @tycole @colson__horton and @rachwall_ for the lovely profile on the beautiful backdrop of our lives as they stand and smile today. We will place it in our family time capsule and cherish it for many, many years. Also, thank you dearly and deeply to my sisters @pierceandward Let’s always remain outside of the box. XO.”
This announcement comes after Galecki’s decision to relocate from Los Angeles to Nashville just before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, ending a 30-year residence in California. Reflecting on his move, he shared with the magazine, “Everywhere I looked, around here, felt like the scene of a future memory.”
Galecki and Meyer, who separated in 2020 after a two-year relationship and the birth of their son Avery in 2019, had previously expressed their joy about becoming parents in a joint statement: “We are absolutely over the moon to announce that we will soon be welcoming a little one into this crazy and wonderful world. We ask that you please respect our privacy during this celebratory time for us and our families. There truly is love out there for all. We hope ours is the ember of yours, as we feel yours is the ember of ours.”
