Christina Applegate Speaks Out About Being Hospitalized 30 Times From Battle With MS

Christina Applegate is opening up about the brutal reality of living with multiple sclerosis, revealing that she’s been hospitalized more than 30 times since her diagnosis. The Emmy-winning actress, known for her roles in Dead to Me and Married… with Children, has described the pain as “unimaginable” and says her daily life has completely changed as she manages the chronic neurological condition.

Applegate shared her experience on her new podcast, MeSsy, which she co-hosts with fellow MS warrior Jamie-Lynn Sigler. In their candid conversation, Applegate didn’t hold back, saying there are days where the pain is so intense she can’t walk or get out of bed. She revealed that one particularly bad stretch landed her in the hospital 30 times over just a few years.

Despite the struggles, Applegate says the support from friends, family, and fans has been essential. She also praised Sigler for encouraging her to keep speaking out and showing others with MS that they’re not alone. Their podcast aims to offer a real, unfiltered look at life with the disease, covering everything from physical challenges to emotional battles.

While Applegate has stepped back from acting, she says she’s still learning how to adjust to her “new normal.” Sharing her journey publicly, she hopes to raise awareness and make space for more honest conversations around chronic illness.
