Christina Sandera, Clint Eastwood’s longtime partner, passed away at the age of 61 due to a heart attack, as confirmed by the Monterey County Health Department. Her death certificate listed cardiac arrhythmia as the immediate cause and atherosclerotic coronary artery disease as a contributing factor. Eastwood, in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, expressed his sorrow, describing Sandera as a “lovely, caring woman.”
The couple met over a decade ago when Sandera was working as a hostess at Eastwood’s Mission Ranch Hotel and Restaurant in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. They began dating in 2014, a year after Eastwood’s divorce from his second wife, Dina Eastwood. Despite Eastwood’s long-standing presence in Hollywood, the pair maintained a relatively private relationship, making occasional public appearances, including at the 2015 Academy Awards and the 2019 premiere of “Richard Jewell.”
Eastwood, who has been a significant figure in the film industry for over seventy years, has always been protective of his private life. In an interview with CBS News, he emphasized the importance of shielding the privacy of those close to him, stating that while he could protect himself, others might be more vulnerable. This sentiment underlined his approach to keeping his relationship with Sandera mostly out of the public eye.
