Shawneesha Cobbs, 28, was arrested at an Applebee’s in Portage, Indiana, after a dispute over the restaurant’s “all you can eat” special. Cobbs and her group attempted to share a single $15.99 all-you-can-eat order, which included items like boneless wings, riblets, shrimp, and fries, among several people. When the Applebee’s manager informed them that the deal was “per person” and provided a revised bill, tensions escalated. The group argued that the menu did not specify this limitation, but when police arrived, they quickly pointed out that the menu clearly stated “per person” in bold letters.

The situation grew more heated when Cobbs began arguing with another couple in the restaurant, attracting the attention of other patrons. Despite efforts by her group and the police to calm her down, Cobbs continued to be loud and disruptive. After multiple warnings, she was arrested for disorderly conduct and taken to Porter County Jail. The group eventually recognized their mistake regarding the deal’s terms, returned to the restaurant, and paid the full bill.

Applebee’s has not commented on the incident, and it remains unclear when Cobbs was released from jail or when she is due back in court. The incident highlights the importance of understanding promotional terms, especially in dining settings, to avoid misunderstandings that can escalate into legal issues.
