A 26-year-old British influencer tragically lost his life after falling from Spain’s highest bridge, the Castilla-La Mancha Bridge, while attempting to create content for social media. The man, along with a 24-year-old companion, had climbed the 192-meter-high structure without using any safety gear, aiming to capture footage for their online presence. According to Spanish authorities, the man fell from a height of approximately 40 to 50 meters, with a passing motorist placing the emergency call early Sunday morning.
Emergency services, including local police, the fire department, and paramedics, arrived at the scene but were only able to confirm his death. His body was later recovered and taken to a funeral home. Macarena Muñoz, the local councillor for citizen security, emphasized that climbing the bridge is completely prohibited and that such actions are incredibly dangerous. This incident has raised concerns about the growing trend of people risking their lives for viral content.
The man’s companion, who was reportedly in a state of shock, was questioned by the police but not charged with any crime. Officials said that the decision to issue any sanctions for climbing the bridge would be left to the local town hall.
