Democratic strategist James Carville has predicted that Donald Trump’s administration will “collapse in less than 30 days,” citing plummeting approval ratings and mounting political tensions. Speaking with Mediaite’s Dan Abrams, Carville argued that Trump’s recent executive orders and widespread firings of government officials have destabilized his presidency.
Carville pointed to a poll showing Trump’s approval rating dropping from the low 50s to the upper 30s, calling it “the lowest approval—not even close—that any president has ever had at a comparable time.” He suggested that Democrats should “play possum” and wait for Trump’s White House to “fall apart on its own.”
The strategist also highlighted concerns about the role of Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which has been aggressively cutting federal spending. He claimed these moves could trigger an economic downturn, leading some Republicans to abandon Trump. “Just lay back,” Carville said. “It’s going to happen quickly.”

Trump responded on Truth Social, calling Carville a “loser” and claiming his administration has “the best polling numbers it’s ever had.” While Trump’s supporters dismiss the collapse prediction, Carville remains confident that internal chaos will soon take its toll.
