Jasveen Sangha, a notorious drug dealer known as the “Ketamine Queen” of North Hollywood, has been arrested in connection with the death of Friends actor Matthew Perry. Sangha, who is facing nine charges, including conspiracy to distribute ketamine and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and ketamine, is accused of being part of a criminal network that exploited Perry’s vulnerability. The U.S. Department of Justice revealed that this network, which also included Perry’s live-in assistant and several doctors, supplied the actor with the drugs that ultimately led to his fatal overdose in October 2023.
Sangha, a 41-year-old dual citizen of the United States and Great Britain, was allegedly running a “drug-selling emporium” from her North Hollywood stash house. Prosecutors claim that she sold ketamine to Perry just four days before his death, a dose that contributed to his tragic end. In addition to Perry’s case, Sangha is also accused of selling ketamine to another man in 2019 who later died from an overdose. Despite pleading not guilty, Sangha faces a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted on all charges. She remains in custody, with her next hearing scheduled for October 15.
Sangha’s arrest has drawn attention not only because of her connection to Perry but also due to her extravagant lifestyle as a well-connected Hollywood socialite. She reportedly flaunted her wealth on social media, sharing photos from luxurious vacations and exclusive parties. This image starkly contrasts with her alleged involvement in the dark world of drug distribution, where she catered to high-end clients and celebrities.
Perry, who was found dead in his Los Angeles home on October 28, 2023, had traces of ketamine in his system, leading to the initial belief that his death was an accidental overdose. The arrests in connection with his death highlight the dangerous intersection of Hollywood glamour and the underground drug trade, a reality that continues to claim lives, even among the most famous.
