Sean “Diddy” Combs has been placed on suicide watch as he awaits trial for serious charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The music mogul, known for his work under the names Puff Daddy and P. Diddy, was arrested in New York earlier this week. He is currently held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center without bail, which has been denied twice.

Combs’ arrest followed federal investigations into his homes in Los Angeles and Miami, where authorities recovered narcotics, firearms, and a significant amount of lubricants. The indictment accuses him of abusing and coercing individuals to participate in elaborate, drug-fueled sex acts, some of which were recorded and orchestrated by Combs himself. These accusations mirror those made by his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, in a previous civil complaint.

The decision to place Combs on suicide watch is described as a preventive measure due to his apparent state of shock and unclear mental health. This supervisory status involves frequent observation to ensure his safety while in detention. If convicted, Combs could face a sentence ranging from 15 years to life in prison. His lawyer has maintained his innocence, asserting that the alleged acts were consensual.
