Maitland Ward, best known for her role as Rachel McGuire on Boy Meets World, says she has received more respect since transitioning to a career in the adult film industry. Despite initial concerns that she would be judged or shunned, Ward revealed that she has experienced overwhelming positivity, even within Hollywood.
Ward, who left mainstream acting years ago, said she initially entered the adult industry as a form of creative expression rather than a financial move. However, she later admitted that she now earns ten times what she made in Hollywood, allowing her to have full control over her career. She is currently working on adapting her memoir into a TV series and claims industry professionals have been respectful and interested in her story.

She emphasized that her work has been empowering, particularly in collaborating with female directors on artistic, erotic films. She described the industry as one where she feels confidence in her body and enjoys being able to create projects she is truly passionate about. She also highlighted the importance of ensuring comfort and communication on set, stating that conversations about boundaries and expectations are prioritized.

Ward maintains that she had a great experience on Boy Meets World, but she now enjoys the freedom of directing her own path. She believes she has succeeded in doing something few others have dared to do, which has given her a newfound sense of confidence and creative fulfillment.
