Despite the impending arrival of Hurricane Milton, Walt Disney World remains open, though some areas are temporarily shutting down in preparation. The resort announced that locations like Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Copper Creek Cabins, and the Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs Resort will close starting midweek. These closures are expected to last several days as the storm approaches.

Disney has not yet made decisions about closing the parks or other resort hotels, which are still operating as usual. They are closely monitoring the storm’s path, ensuring that guest and staff safety remains a top priority. As of now, only the more rustic accommodations are affected by the changes.

In contrast, other Florida attractions, such as Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay, have already closed entirely for the week in anticipation of the hurricane’s landfall. Despite the significant threat of Hurricane Milton, which recently reached Category 4 strength, Disney continues to maintain normal operations, though further updates may follow.

This marks a cautious approach by Disney, as the park has historically closed for major storms only 11 times in its 53-year history. Should they decide to close the parks, it would be one of those rare instances, reinforcing the seriousness of the storm’s potential impact.
