Elon Musk and J.K. Rowling could face significant legal repercussions, including hefty fines and potential prison sentences, if they lose a cyberbullying lawsuit filed by Olympic boxer Imane Khelif. Khelif, who won a gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics, became a controversial figure following a gender eligibility test scandal. Despite the controversy, she was allowed to compete and emerged victorious in the women’s 66kg boxing final.

The lawsuit centers around accusations of cyber harassment made by Khelif against several individuals, including Musk and Rowling, who criticized her participation in the Olympics. Rowling referred to Khelif as a “male” and accused her of shattering another woman’s dreams. Musk, on the other hand, shared a post supporting the idea that “men don’t belong in women’s sports.”

The case has garnered significant attention, with Khelif’s attorney, Nabil Boudi, indicating that other high-profile figures, including Donald Trump, may also be investigated. If found guilty, Musk and Rowling could face prison time and severe financial penalties under French law.
