The petition is part of Musk’s support for Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election, with the billionaire calling Pennsylvania a critical battleground.
Legal experts, however, believe Musk’s initiative may violate federal election laws that prohibit offering payment in exchange for voting or voter registration. Critics argue that allowing wealthy individuals to influence elections with money distorts the democratic process. Meanwhile, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro has called the plan “deeply concerning” and urged law enforcement to investigate.
Despite legal concerns, Musk continues his speaking tour, using his platform to push deregulation, criticize government agencies, and endorse Trump’s policies. The $1 million daily giveaway is set to continue until voter registration deadlines close in key states.
