The 77-year-old musician confirmed he has lost his eyesight following an infection earlier this year that caused severe damage to his right eye. Elton expressed gratitude to his husband, David Furnish, calling him “my rock,” and admitted he could not see the show but enjoyed hearing the performance.
The singer had previously disclosed his vision troubles in an Instagram post, explaining it was an “extremely slow process” with limited hope of recovery. In an interview, Elton described how his blindness has hindered his ability to work, saying, “I can’t see a lyric for a start.” Despite his challenges, Elton remains engaged in his creative projects and recently attended the premiere of his Disney+ documentary, Elton John: Never Too Late.
