Eminem appears to have removed a controversial lyric aimed at his mother, Debbie Nelson, during a recent live performance at the Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix. This follows Nelson’s recent death from complications related to lung cancer at the age of 69. The omitted lyric, from his track “My Name Is,” included a scathing insult: “F**k you, Debbie,” which fans in the audience continued to sing despite Eminem’s choice to leave it out.

Eminem’s relationship with his mother has long been fraught, with public disputes and several songs targeting her alleged behavior during his childhood. Notable tracks like “Cleanin’ Out My Closet” detailed accusations of abuse, including claims that she spiked his food with Valium. While there were brief moments of reconciliation, including his 2013 apology track “Headlights,” their relationship remained tumultuous until her passing.

The decision to remove the lyric has been seen by many as a possible sign of remorse or a tribute to his late mother. Nelson, who gave birth to Eminem when she was just 18, had always denied many of his accusations and even released a song titled “Dear Marshall,” expressing both love and frustration toward her son.

This latest development adds a poignant chapter to Eminem’s storied career, reflecting the complexities of their relationship and his evolving approach to public expressions of their personal struggles.
