The first trailer for Fantastic 4: First Steps has been released, officially introducing Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic in the MCU. The reboot features a star-studded cast, including Vanessa Kirby as The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as The Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing. The film, set in a reimagined 1960s New York, will be the first full Fantastic Four project developed by Marvel Studios since Disney’s acquisition of Fox.
The trailer also gives fans a glimpse of Galactus, who will be voiced by Ralph Ineson, and confirms Julia Garner’s role as a female version of the Silver Surfer. John Malkovich appears briefly in the teaser, sparking speculation that he may be playing the villain Ivan Kragoff, also known as the Red Ghost.
Director Matt Shakman, known for his work on WandaVision, left a planned Star Trek project to take on the film. Marvel boss Kevin Feige previously hinted that the movie would take a fresh approach, stating that “the cityscape in the teaser isn’t quite the New York we know.”
