J. Michael Cline, the founder of the movie ticketing app Fandango, has tragically passed away at the age of 64. Cline died by suicide, jumping from the 20th floor of The Kimberly Hotel in Manhattan, New York City. Law enforcement sources reported that he left a suicide note in his hotel room, which read, “So sorry. I can’t explain the pain of f up this much. I love you all,” before he went onto the balcony and jumped, landing in a third-floor courtyard.
Cline was a prominent entrepreneur who started Fandango in 2000. He was also involved in several other ventures, including start-up funding firms Accretive and Juxtapose, tech company R1 RCM, business insurance firm Insureon, and education solutions business Everspring. His contributions to the tech and business industries were significant and far-reaching.
Cline married his wife, Pamela, in 1995, and they have six children together. The family purchased a Palm Beach home in late 2020 for over $20 million. Despite his professional success, Cline’s note indicated deep personal pain.
