Marshall Mosher, an adventure athlete, recently took to the skies over the Great Pyramid of Giza, capturing breathtaking footage of the ancient monument from his paramotor, a powered paraglider. In addition to the awe-inspiring view of the historic landmark, Mosher was stunned to see a dog at the very top of the pyramid. Sharing his experience on Instagram, Mosher expressed disbelief, writing, “A dog climbed all the way up the Great Pyramid of Giza!” His post quickly went viral, garnering over 22.8 million views.

The sight of the dog sparked reactions online, with many viewers speculating that the dog could be a symbolic representation of Anubis, the ancient Egyptian god associated with funerary practices and the afterlife. One commenter humorously suggested, “Not a dog. That is the Egyptian God Anubis,” while others expressed concern for the dog, hoping it could come down for water and rest.

However, Mosher clarified in a follow-up video that the dog is not an unusual presence. Many stray dogs are known to live around the pyramid and can sometimes be seen climbing up and down the massive structure. He confirmed that the dog frequently roams the area and returns to the ground, living its life in the shadow of one of the world’s most iconic landmarks.

While the canine may not be the ancient god Anubis, the sight was still a unique experience for Mosher and added an extra layer of wonder to his adventure. The viral moment highlighted both the enduring allure of the Great Pyramid and the simple yet surprising moments that can unfold in unexpected places.
