Olympic gymnast Carlos Yulo has become a national hero in the Philippines after winning two gold medals at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Yulo, who made history as the first Filipino man to win a gold medal in the country’s 100-year history of competing in both the summer and winter games, secured his victories in the men’s floor event and the men’s vault final. His outstanding performance has significantly boosted the Philippines’ gold medal count.

In recognition of his achievements, Yulo will receive a substantial array of rewards. A private real-estate company, Megaworld, announced that Yulo will be awarded the equivalent of $606,000 in his home country’s currency, a significant increase from the initial $52,000 promised before his second gold win. Additionally, he will be given a three-bedroom condominium valued at approximately $414,000, upgraded from a two-bedroom unit following his second triumph.

The rewards don’t end there. Yulo is also entitled to around $173,000 for his gold medal due to a legislative act in the Philippines, with an additional $104,000 for his second gold. He will also receive a lifetime supply of ramen, unlimited entry to a local buffet chain, and a $20,000 voucher for a department store in the Philippines.

These rewards highlight the immense pride and support the Philippines has for its athletes. Yulo’s success not only underscores his personal achievements but also symbolizes a historic moment for Philippine sports on the global stage.
