Captured on bodycam footage, the May 2024 encounter escalated when the rapper and Law and Order: SVU star, frustrated by the situation, called the officer a “fking ahole” and accused him of being unnecessarily harsh. Ice-T explained he was on his way to the DMV to address the expired paperwork, citing system issues the day prior as the reason for the delays.
The officer issued Ice-T four citations, including driving with a suspended license and improper display. When a sergeant arrived to mediate, Ice-T was allowed to leave his car parked and proceed on foot to the DMV, though tensions remained high. The officer ended the interaction by advising Ice-T to “show some respect,” to which the rapper replied, “I don’t have to.”
