J.D. Vance claims that he and his three-year-old daughter were chased by pro-Ukraine protesters while walking together. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Vance stated that a group of demonstrators shouting “Slava Ukraini” followed them, making his daughter anxious and scared. He attempted to defuse the situation by speaking with the protesters, describing the conversation as “mostly respectful” but adding that anyone who chases a child for political reasons is a “s*** person.”
There is no video evidence of the incident, and the Secret Service has not commented on the situation. The encounter comes amid heightened tensions between the U.S. and Ukraine following Vance and President Trump’s contentious meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. During that meeting, Vance told Zelenskyy he should be more grateful to Trump, which escalated into a heated exchange that ended with Zelenskyy being removed from the White House.

Pro-Ukraine protests have intensified since then, with demonstrators confronting Vance during a ski trip in Vermont, where one person called him “Putin’s puppet.” The vice president’s stance on Ukraine aid and Trump’s recent pause on military support have fueled political backlash, making Vance a central figure in the ongoing controversy.
With tensions rising, it remains unclear whether this latest incident will prompt an official response from the White House or law enforcement.
