Jane’s Addiction has issued a public apology after an on-stage fight between frontman Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro during a performance in Boston. The incident occurred while the band was performing their song “Ocean Size,” with Farrell allegedly shoulder-barging Navarro before trying to hit him. Shocked fans and crew intervened, with the band cutting the performance short.
Following the altercation, the band announced the cancellation of their next show in Bridgeport, offering refunds to ticket holders. They shared the apology via Instagram, expressing regret for the events and thanking fans for their understanding. Many feared the incident could mark the end of the band’s reunion tour, which began earlier this year after a 14-year hiatus.

Farrell’s wife, Etty Lau, later explained on social media that technical issues had been building up over time, leading to her husband’s frustration. She cited issues with stage volume and his voice being drowned out by the band’s sound, contributing to the outburst. Farrell had also been experiencing health issues, including tinnitus and a sore throat.
Navarro, praised for staying calm during the confrontation, has not made a public statement about the fight. It remains unclear whether the band will continue their U.S. and Canada tour as planned, leaving fans uncertain about the group’s future.
