J.D. Vance, who is currently running as Donald Trump’s vice-presidential pick, is defending his controversial “childless cat ladies” remarks. Appearing on “The Megyn Kelly Show,” Vance addressed the backlash from his 2021 comments, where he criticized women like Kamala Harris as “childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives.” He insisted that his point was misinterpreted and that he was emphasizing the benefits of parenthood and criticizing the Democratic Party for being anti-family and anti-kid.

Vance clarified that he wasn’t attacking individuals who choose not to have children but rather advocating for policies that support traditional parenting and make family life easier. He also stressed his support for IVF and the autonomy of Christian hospitals in their operations.

The comments resurfaced on social media shortly after Trump announced Vance as his VP, drawing criticism from Harris supporters, including celebrities like Jennifer Aniston and Harris’ stepdaughter, Ella Emhoff. In addition to the “cat lady” controversy, Vance is also facing scrutiny over past remarks advocating for a federal clampdown on out-of-state abortions. Despite the backlash, Vance remains committed to his stance on traditional family values and improving support for families in America.
