Ortega took to Instagram to dismiss the rumors, stating, “This is so ridiculous I can’t even laugh. I have never met or worked with Johnny Depp in my life. Please stop spreading lies and leave us alone.” Depp’s representative also confirmed to NME that Depp has no personal or professional relationship with Ortega and is not involved in any project with her.

In Variety’s Actors on Actors series, she shared her struggles with the increased trolling following her rise to fame due to “Wednesday.” She emphasized the difficulty of balancing honesty with personal health and safety amidst online scrutiny.
This clarification also seemingly dismisses the reports of Depp’s potential appearance in “Beetlejuice 2,” which is set to be released this September. Both Ortega and Depp’s statements aim to put an end to the baseless rumors and refocus attention on their respective careers.
