Seán Ono Lennon, the son of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, recently praised Taylor Swift but admitted that one of her lyrics made him uncomfortable. In a social media post, Seán stated that while he isn’t a fan of Swift’s music and doesn’t really know her songs, he believes she should be respected and “treasured” for her unique success as an artist. He felt the world needs “more, not less, Taylor Swifts” for the way she has continually thrived.

Seán’s comments seemed to be a response to Donald Trump’s recent statement on Truth Social, where he expressed his dislike for Swift after she endorsed his opponent, Kamala Harris, for the upcoming presidential election. Seán criticized Trump’s reaction, calling it a poor look for “an old grumpy dude” to get angry at her. While not taking sides in the political debate, Seán acknowledged Swift’s impact and accomplishments.

Despite his praise, Seán admitted he was not fond of a specific lyric in Swift’s song “Bad Blood,” where she rhymes “mad love” with “bad blood,” describing it as something that made him uncomfortable. However, he emphasized that this was his only criticism and that he has great respect for Swift’s achievements, even if he doesn’t personally follow her music.

Seán’s remarks highlight his admiration for Swift’s influence and success while also poking fun at minor lyrical choices. His comments add to the ongoing conversation around Taylor Swift’s political influence and the backlash she has faced from some public figures.
