Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign reportedly paid $1 million to Oprah Winfrey’s production company, Harpo Productions, in a bid to boost her presidential campaign through star-studded appearances and endorsements. Winfrey hosted a town hall for Harris in September and appeared at her final rally in Philadelphia, publicly endorsing her by saying, “We’re voting for values and integrity.”
Additionally, Harris’s campaign invested heavily in other high-profile events and media, including a six-figure investment for an elaborate set on the Call Her Daddy podcast and up to $20 million on swing-state concerts. These events featured stars like Jon Bon Jovi, Christina Aguilera, and Lady Gaga, who performed in key cities to appeal to voters just before the election.
Despite these high expenditures, Republican strategist Brad Todd criticized the spending, stating that without a compelling message or strategy to distance from the administration, “money can’t buy you love or a good candidate.”
