The trailer for the second half of Season 5 of “Yellowstone” has been released, featuring Kevin Costner despite his earlier exit from the show. In the teaser, Costner’s character, John Dutton, is seen and heard saying, “Legacy. You build something worth having, someone is gonna try and take it.” This has left fans wondering how the series will handle his departure, as Costner has confirmed he will not be returning to the show.

The trailer suggests that the footage of Costner might be from scenes filmed before his exit. The teaser also shows other key characters like Kayce Dutton, Jamie Dutton, and Beth Dutton in tense situations, hinting at the intense drama that will unfold in this final season. Paramount Network has stated that Season 5 is the last, although there were earlier rumors about a possible Season 6.

Kevin Costner left “Yellowstone” to focus on his new film project, “Horizon: An American Saga,” a four-part Western movie that did not perform well at the box office. In a June statement, Costner expressed his affection for “Yellowstone” but confirmed he would not return, citing his commitment to other projects.

There is also talk of a new “Yellowstone” spinoff titled “The Madison,” starring Michelle Pfeiffer. The second half of “Yellowstone” Season 5 is set to premiere on November 10 on Paramount Network, marking what is currently announced as the series finale.
