In a peculiar incident in Thailand, a husband accidentally left his wife stranded on the roadside during a late-night pee break, leading to an unexpected 12.5-mile walk for her. On their way to the Maha Sarakham province for Christmas 2022, 55-year-old Boontom Chaimoon pulled over their Isuzu pickup truck around 3:00 AM to relieve himself. His wife, 49-year-old Amnuay Chaimoon, also stepped into the bushes for privacy. When she returned, the car and her husband were gone.

With her phone left in the car and no way to contact him, Amnuay began a determined trek to the Kabin Buri district, reaching it two hours later. Unable to call her husband as she didn’t have his number, she contacted local police who helped her call her own phone 20 times, but Boontom, oblivious, had driven nearly 100 miles away to Korat province. He didn’t realize his wife’s absence until 8:00 AM when he received a shocking call about her ordeal.

Ridden with guilt, Boontom retraced his path and reunited with his wife. He explained that he assumed Amnuay was sleeping in the back seat. Despite the mishap, Amnuay forgave him, demonstrating the strength of their 27-year marriage. This story not only highlights their enduring love but also serves as a humorous reminder to always double-check your backseat during road trips.
