Margot Robbie recently revealed how nervous she was about a particular scene in The Wolf of Wall Street where her character, Naomi, places her stiletto heel on Leonardo DiCaprio’s face. In a 2023 interview with Vogue, Robbie admitted that she was terrified of accidentally stabbing DiCaprio with her heel during the intense scene, where Naomi uses her sexuality to manipulate Jordan Belfort, DiCaprio’s character. Despite her worries, the scene became one of the most memorable in the film.

Robbie described Naomi’s use of her sexuality as a tool for control and influence over Jordan, and how her character’s wardrobe played a significant role in that. She highlighted how what Naomi wore (or didn’t wear) was integral to her power dynamic in the relationship. Robbie also shared a light-hearted, behind-the-scenes story about DiCaprio misplacing his e-cigarette during the shoot, only to find it lodged in her butt crack, a moment that left both actors laughing.

The shoot wasn’t without its challenges. Robbie explained how filming the scene was anything but glamorous, spending 17 hours in a small room packed with crew members. The “weird” and “embarrassing” nature of the scene required her to push through any discomfort to fully commit to the role.

Robbie’s breakout performance in The Wolf of Wall Street helped launch her into stardom, but she’s always been open about the awkward and unsexy reality behind filming such provocative scenes. Despite the behind-the-scenes discomfort, the scene remains iconic in the film, adding to the complex dynamics between the two characters.
