Miley Cyrus has revealed that she lied to Liam Hemsworth about her virginity for nearly a decade, admitting that she made up a story when they first started dating. Speaking on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Cyrus explained that at 16, she told Hemsworth she had already lost her virginity because she was worried he would think she was inexperienced. She even invented a specific person, someone she knew but had never actually been intimate with.
The lie lasted for eight years until Hemsworth eventually found out. One of his friends ended up marrying the man Cyrus claimed to have slept with, which forced her to come clean at 24. Cyrus recalled Hemsworth confronting her, saying, “Now my friend is marrying someone you’ve hooked up with,” leading her to admit she had never actually been with that person.

Cyrus also opened up about her early romantic experiences, revealing that her first physical encounters were with girls when she was around 11 or 12. She said that while her friends were talking about their experiences with boys, she was more interested in experimenting with her female friends. She admitted that she didn’t have a full experience with a man until she was 16, which is why she felt pressured to lie to Hemsworth.

Despite the unusual start to their relationship, Cyrus and Hemsworth eventually married in 2018, though their marriage lasted less than a year. She now looks back on the situation with humor, saying, “But I ended up marrying the guy, so that’s pretty crazy.”
